From the ages of about eight to thirteen, I was more or less surgically attached to a library. For us old folks, the library was our internet, except that it was made out of paper. Completely unlike the current internet, the mainstay of the library wasn’t porn, but the librarian. Neither sexy nor scantily clad, the librarian was usually an older woman whose temperament ranged somewhere from genial to dour. Ordinarily you could find her behind her desk or dutifully pushing her trolley along, re-shelving books. I highly suspect her cologne was a subtle Eau de Book Paste.

One thing for sure, they never built them like Chainsaw Sally.

REVIEW: ‘Walking Distance’

It’s time for another episode of “TerrorScribe Confessions.”

If you missed the previous episode, we won’t recap the horrible and embarrassing events of that night. Suffice it to say that powdered lime works exactly how they say it does and that I will never look at a Jello pudding pop the same way again.

There’s no rest for the wicked and apparently, none also for Mel House – make whatever value judgment on that you like. Having just recently premiered his latest film, “Walking Distance” at the DIFF last month, we find his next film is already nearing completion. This time, producing and writing “Imago” with first time director Chris Warren in the big seat. “Imago” also includes horror veterans Debbie Rochon (“Walking Distance”) and Lisa Wilcox (“A Nightmare on Elm Street” 4 and 5).
